Description:Ingots of iron stacked up at Goldendale in the mid 1960’s. The works was situated in the Chatterley Valley near Harecastle Hill. Close to the Trent and Mersey canal and the North Staffordshire Railway, it had excellent communication links. However, Goldendale could not compete with the sheer size of nearby Shelton Steel Works.
