Description:Don Pottery under demolition in September 1972. The firm was just outside Longton off King Street. Many bottle kilns were destroyed after they fell into disuse following the Clean Air Act of 1956. Preservation orders were placed on these kilns during the mid-seventies and about 25 remain today throughout the city. Photographed by J.H. Kelly
