Description:The old wharf buildings on the Trent and Mersey canal await demolition in the mid 1960’s.
The land was earmarked for the A500 D-road to cut a swathe through the centre of Stoke.
Many buildings were demolished during construction in the 1970’s.
None of the buildings in this photograph are still standing, St Peter's Church, on the left of the photograph, being the exception.
