Description:The swimming pool, located on the far side of the lake from the main Trentham Gardens entrance, was very popular with visitors. It became fashionable for people to visit the pool just to take tea and cakes on the poolside veranda.
The pool was one of only two open-air pools in the Potteries, the other being at Smallthorne near the petrol station. When mining subsidence finally closed Smallthorne pool, Trentham became even more popular. Visitors could also enjoy a short narrow gauge train ride to the pool. It was demolished in the late 1980’s.
