Description:This is the old Midland Bank building on the corner of Railway Passage and Market Street in Longton. A date tablet over the door states "Established 1836", the year of the founding of the Birmingham and Midland Bank. This building dates from 1921. The upper floor was used as offices by the United Friendly Insurance Co. The classical style building still stands, although no longer a bank.
