Description:The view along Clough Street towards the centre of Hanley. On the right hand edge is the greyhound racing stadium and next along, the tall chimney and three bottle ovens of George Ashworth's Broad Street Works. Between the two is the Vulcan Pottery of Alcock, Lindlery & Bloore. The square brick building behind is the ABC Cine Bowl with the square chimney of Clementson's mill alongside. Further up into Hanley, the other large building behind the chimney is the old Theatre Royal. The turret on the skyline to the right is on the Town Hall in Albion Square.

The photograph was taken from Pepper's Garage (on the left) on Clough Street. The next works along belong to Gough & Co, engineers.
