Date:August 1964

Description:Lodge Road is just east of Hilton Road and connects Newcastle Lane with Ashlands Road. This is the view looking north west just before the junction with Oliver Road, off to the left. Just visible between the trees on the right is Faraday Place. At the far end of the road, the houses are on Ashlands Road. The street names have a link with Sir Oliver Lodge, the renowned Penkhull born physicist.
The housing estate dates from the late 1950s. Similarly the car and van date from the late 50s or early 1960s. The car is a Ford Prefect or Popular and the van is a Bedford CA, possibly a mobile grocer.
