Date:July 1964

Description:The photograph was taken looking up Etruria Road from close to the junction with Basford Park Road. Sackville Street is off to the left just by the Davenport's off-licence. This road formed part of the Newcastle to Leek road after Basford Bank was developed after the 1820s.

The houses on the right are built on land that used to be the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, with the original boundary wall. The dog seems to have just made it across the road Between the Morris van and the Vanguard saloon car.
