Description:The camera is looking south towards Stoke Station from the up side platform at Etruria Station. The tank engine is on the down line heading towards Kidsgrove. To the right is Twyford's Etruria Works and to the left the gasholders of Etruria Gasworks. On the extreme right is part of Wenger's Ceramic Colour and Chemical Works. Opened in 1848, one end of the Potteries Loop Line from the 1870s, the station was finally closed in 2005. The platforms were removed by 2008 to allow straightening of the track and trains to run through at over 80 mph.
