Description:Hanley Greyhound and Speedway stadium (also known as Sun Street Stadium) lay between Clough Street, Mount Pleasant and Sun Street in Shelton. The area was also known as Tinkersclough. This is the view northwards from the main stand. The square building outside the stadium on the left hand edge is Peppers commercial garage on Clough Street.

Built in 1928 the stadium held its last meeting in October 1963. It was one of the early oval greyhound tracks in the UK with up to three meetings each week. Later it was the home to the Hanley Potters Speedway team. Originally built on an old marl hole and brick works, the site is now a commercial and business park.
