Description:ooking south near the end of Newport Lane at one of the entrances to Shelton Steel Works. The buildings on the right, partly hidden by the Shelton signboard, is Oliver's Mill with its calcining oven. The Trent & Mersey Canal crosses the photograph unseen just beyond the mill and before the steelworks rolling mill building.

Olivers Mill are grade II listed buildings. Much of the area of the steelworks was incorporated into the Garden Festival site in 1986 whilst the remaining rolling mills finally closed in 2000.
