Date:December 1963

Description:The Royal Hotel was at the top end of Liverpool Road (renamed Westport Road). Closed, the building became part of Steventon's Royal Pottery. The top of a bottle oven is just peeking over the roof of the hotel. The shop next door, Myatts, had been a sweet shop since the 1900s. The pottery and these buildings have been replaced with houses and flats.
Parker's Ales supplied beer for pubs and hotels all around the Potteries from their brewery in Burslem.
