Description:This is a view of the side of Bleak Hill Works in Cobridge, taken from Moore Street. On the right hand edge is the spoil tip of Sneyd Colliery and the winding gear can just be seen peeping above the roofline of the works.
Peter Warburton built the Bleak Hill Works in inn the early 1800s to manufacture cream coloured earthenware. The works was occupied by Davison & Sons from the 1890s until they were taken over by Swinnertons in the 1950s.
The works has been demolished and is now the site of Camoys Court.
