Description:Swan Pottery was on High Street Tunstall, this is a view of the yard and workshops from Hunt Street. The works was originally the Britannia Black works, owned by Colclough and Lingard from around 1867. The company became Lingard Webster & Co in 1900 ( later Lingard, Webster & Jones) and the works renamed the Swan Pottery. Advertising themselves as "The Teapot Specialists of England since 1867", the company were known for their tea services. Clarice Cliff was an apprentice enameller at the company in 1912. The company lasted until 1972 and the Swan Pottery was demolished to accommodate the enlarged A50 roundabout at the top of High Street.
