Description:The building in the photograph is the drum dryer and slip house at H & R Johnson's ceramic tile works in Connaught Street in Tunstall. Slip is a mixture of clay, other ceramic materials and water used either in a mould or to decorate ceramic tiles. Is that a leak of slip in the bottom left hand corner? The factory has been demolished and the site cleared.
