Description:Young rock climbers on the east facing outcrop of gritstone at the north end of Greenway Hall Road, close to Stone House, in Baddeley Green. The outcrop is of Chatsworth Grit, a variety of Millstone Grit, used for building stone, walls and abrasives. The horizontal layers of gritstone were laid down in a large river delta between 315 and 325 million years ago. Many local farms and houses are built of this gritstone. The area around this outcrop is now part of Greenway Hall golf course.
