Description:A view north east along Leek New Road (A53) at the outskirts of Stockton Brook. The place name sign on the right hand side of the road is for Baddeley Green and the photograph was taken just beyond the junction with Baddeley Green Lane. To the left edge is the area known s The Green. Ball Edge and parts of Stockton Brook form the higher ground off to the left of the road.

Leek New Road first appears on maps in the 1850s, starting in Cobridge and running in an almost straight line through Stockton Brook to Endon. The area to the right of the road was open space and nurseries until the early 1930s when ribbon development housing sprung up.
