Description:A view north along Old Town Road with the Falcon Pottery building on the right and the winding gear of Hanley Deep Pit in the distance. Safin House, in the centre, was occupied by S Finney & Sons , a wholesale warehouse company. The gates to James Topham's barrel makers lies between the pottery and Safin House. The Falcon Pottery opened in Hanley in 1892, with the present building dating from 1906, and produced tableware until its closure in 2000. At its height the pottery employed 200 people. In 1989 the pot bank became a grade II listed building.
