Description:Burslem Technical College was constructed between 1878 and 1900 and was originally Stansfield Hospital. It comprises of seven buildings, blocks A to G. This photogragh shows the rear of blocks D and E.
Block D has three storeys and is five room wide by two rooms deep. The ground floor has one door with stone steps and a rectangular light. There is also a set of blue brick stairs that lead down to a cellar door. A modern door and window has been built into a gateway and there is evidence of an iron lintel. To the rear of the building, on the first and second floor is a modern fire escape.
Block E is one storey high, three room wide by two rooms deep. The front of the building has a door with concrete lintel and step. The roof has decorated ridge tiles and evidence of a finial. There are two L-shaped projections to the rear of the building.
