Description:Originally known as Anchor House, this building was first mentioned in 1758. By the mid-19th century it was surrounded by a moat, and was known as The Moat. By the late 19th Century it was named Island House. The moat was drained in the early 1920s and it is pictured here undergoing demolition in 1939.
