Description:Alarm and deep concern were the order of the day for the pottery manufacturers who issued this notice.
Some 43 gentlemen had recently dissented from the proceedings of a manufacturers' meeting, but the problem had gained momentum when libellous notices about them were placed in local newspapers.
The notice calls for a meeting to be held at Mr. Newman's in Cobridge - a building identifiable by "the sign of the dolphin" that adorned it.
There, the following men will have to decide what to do about the matter:
Josiah Wedgwood
George Rogers
William Rogers
John Blackwell
Josiah Spode
Theophilus Smith
Hugh Henshall
Robert Williamson
J.E. Poole
Enoch Wood
Thomas Wedgwood
John Davenport
R. Baddeley
