Description:Hand-made pottery-making tool for smoothing pressed articles.

The tool is flat with a slightly raised handle and was made from part of a plate.

Engraved on the tool is the maker's name, date and place of work.

William Mycock, Lane End Waterloo, April 26 1832.

Roughly 10cm in length.

Taken from the Gladstone Pottery Museum Tools Collection.

This object is now part of the collections at Stoke-on-Trent Museums.
