Description:Slate marking-tool with a sharpened point.

It has "42s" inscribed on it and was probably used to scratch marks into unfired clay for date or payment purposes.

Roughly 3.5cm in length.

Taken from the Gladstone Pottery Museum Tools Collection.

This object is now part of the collections at Stoke-on-Trent Museums.
