Date:24th of August 1963

Description:Unidentified Stanier 8F locomotive at Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent.

Pulling a rake of empty coal wagons, this "up goods" is heading past Cockshutt sidings on the main line.

The buildings in the background are a gas holder at Etruria gas works, and the Twyfords sanitary factory.

The gas works have long since gone, but at the time of writing, the former Tyfords factory is set to get a new lease of life as apartment conversions.
