Description:With the coming of the railway, Rudyard Lake became a popular rural destination for the people of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

It is interesting to note that the famous writer, Rudyard Kipling, was named after the man-made lake. His parents enjoyed summer weeknds and evenings at the lakeside, and they would have used the railway to get there.

Here, the body of an old railway carriage has been converted into a garden retreat.
