Description:Pottery factory interior showing a china thrower and his assistant making cups. It is a two-stage process.
Firstly the thrower throws rough linings, which can be seen on the bench in front of him.
He then puts the lining into a revolving plaster mould and re-throws it to get the cup shape.
A rib was often used to shape the inside of the cup but it is unclear if the man in the picture is using one.
