Description:Pottery factory interior showing female workers, china basket and china flower making.

The women are using a combination of extrusion presses, plaster moulds and hand tools to make the ware.

The extrusion press forces clay through a small hole to make 'strings' of bone china.

These strings are placed over a mould to create the china baskets that can be seen in the photo.

This type of work is known as 'open work'.
