Description:Postcard with a scene from a china warehouse. Photographed by William Blake.
On the reverse of the post card it is stated that the image was taken in 1875. However, this date is far too early. Blake was not born until the 1870s. It is estimated that this image was taken right about the turn of the century. The early dating was possibly designed to give the postcard added nostalgic appeal.
An almost identical image to this appears as part of a slide show in the collection entitled "Staffordshire Pottery".
A reader card that corresponds to this image reads;
"Warehouse. Finished ware being checked for orders ready for packing."
Note: At certain magnifications a patterning effect will appear on this image due the nature of the original.
