Description:Revd. Sidney J. Daltry (1858-1939) was the eldest son of Revd. T. W. Daltry, vicar of Madeley and founding member of he North Staffordshire Field Club. In 1891 he became Deacon of Lichfield Cathedral and spent a year as Dean at Goldenhill. Between 1892 and 1904 he was abroad at missions in Urmi, Persia ( modern Iran) and South Africa. He was later Vicar of Woore and retired to Market array ton in 1934.

A keen amateur archaeologist, he was Hon. secretary of the North Staffordshire Field Club 1866-1904 and a member from 1884 until his death.
