Description:This photograph was taken from Manor Road looking towards Christchurch Street. Opposite the District Bank building is the Royal Oak Inn. On this side on the corner of Manor Street was Fenton Working Man's Club. The building contained a library and reading room and held evening classes attended by R J Mitchell. The bank has been demolished and the Royal Oak rebuilt. the old WMC still stands, although no longer a club.
