Description:This photograph shows the rear of Brittain's Ivy House paper works on Commercial Road in Hanley. It was taken from the Caldon Canal looking north and east with the open land of Bucknall and Abbey Hulton beyond. The mill dated from the early years of the 19th century and was demolished in the early 2000s to make way for modern housing development.
