Description:Penkhull Farm is just to the south of Garden Street in Penkhull. Dating from the early 1700s it covered nearly 70 acres to the south west of Penkhull. The photograph shows the farm and stockyard. The farm had a number of owners, including Josiah Spode II who largely rebuilt the house and yard in the early 1800s. It was operated as a mixed but mainly dairy farm. Most of the fields are now housing and the farm site has been developed for housing by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
