Description:Penkhull Farm opens onto Garden Street, between the buildings on the left. The farm dates from the early 1700s and had nearly 70 acres of land to the south and west (today's Thistley Hough, Meliden Way and Barnfield areas). Josiah Spode II became the owner in the early 19th century and the buildings inn the photograph were largely built by him.
The farm was derelict and was redeveloped by Stoke-on-Trent City Council's "Custom Build Strategy". The farmhouse is a grade II listed building.
