Date:November 1963

Description:The view looking north east from the top of Harsthill Bank. The photograph was taken from the end of Vicarage Road in Hartshill overlooking what is now Hartshill Park and Nature Reserve. In the centre is the tower of St Mark's Church, Shelton and to the left the higher ground of Hanley. The foreground is the Fowlea Valley, with the main railway line from Stoke running across the bottom of the photograph. Today the A500 (Queensway) would fill in the foreground in front of the warehouses and factory on the right.
