Description:Looking towards the Mount Pleasant side of the stadium that lay between Clough Street and Sun Street. On the right hand edge is the bottle oven belonging to the Dresden Works of earthenware manufacturers, Lancaster and Sandland. The camera is looking towards the home bend of the stadium that hosted greyhound racing and speedway between 1928 and 1963. This photograph was taken just a month before closure and the racing floodlights were still in place. Around the edge are the open terraces and wooden stand. The land is now the site of a commercial and business park.
