Description:This photograph was taken from the Emerson Road area of Cobridge looking south down the Fowlea Valley. The foreground was once part of the old Grange Colliery which supplied the steel works using the Grange Branch railway. Beyond are the chimneys, tips and furnaces of Shelton Iron and Steel Works, most of which were cleared to make way for the 1986 Garden Festival.
