Description:A petrol tanker train leaving Hanley station heading towards Etruria Junction passing under the Trinity Street/Etruria Road bridge. The station was built in a deep cutting with tight curves into and out of the station. The last wagon at the end of the train is the guard's or brake van which provided additional braking on goods trains where the wagons didn't have brakes that could be applied from the engine. This would have been important on the Loop Line because of the gradients between Hanley and Cobridge and also between Burslem and Tunstall and Kidsgrove
