Description:Highgate Secondary Modern school stood on the corner of Lambert Street and High Street, Tunstall. The building was originally Highgate junior and infants school until reorganisation in 1929, although a tablet over the main door reads "High Street School". The buildings date from the 1890s when the junior and infants school moved from John Street, where the school used the Wesleyan Sunday School building. The site has been redeveloped with new buildings that were used as a Sure Start Centre.
