Description:Looking north from Sneyd Street towards the Sneyd Colliery spoil tip that ran alongside Leek New Road. Some of the winding gear is visible behind and to the left of the tip. Immediately in front of the tip, in the middle of the photograph is the pylon and pulley of the aerial ropeway that connected the colliery to the tip. The pylon was at the end of Adkins Street. The pylons of a second ropeway are behind the winding gear and chimney. To the right are allotments and on the extreme left hand edge, Abbey Street (now Spa Street). The houses in the centre of the photograph are on Dobson Street and Bratt Street (both now demolished).
