Description:This is a view of the Butler Street Stand from the covered part of the Boothen End Stand. It was built in 1935, just at the time when Stanley Matthews was drawing crowds to watch Stoke City. There were seats for 5000 supporters and a small standing paddock, holding 2000, at pitchside. At the back of the stand were executive boxes. The stand curved round into the, then still open, terraces at the Stoke End of the ground.

A severe storm overnight on 3rd/4th January 1976 destroyed most of the Butler Street Stand roof, causing £250,000 damage and leaving only the far end intact.
