Description:Pearlware dark blue printed plates.Largest plate 33 cm x 25.5 cmThese three 'London Views' are 'Macclesfield Bridge, Regent's Park', 'St. Philip's Chapel, Regent Street', and 'Part of Regent Street'.These plates were excavated at St. Paul's Church, Burslem in 1974. Regent's Park and its approaches were redesigned by the architect John Nash, between 1811 and 1825. The views on Enoch Wood's tablewares were based on engravings by Thomas H. Shepherd in James Elmes' book 'Metropolitan Improvements', published in 1827.
