Description:A New Invention and some Bold Claims

Advertisement for a new kind of milk churn consisting of two almost horizontal cylinders on a stand.

The manufacturer explains the advantages of using this churn as opposed to both an upright or a barrel-churn.

The advert paints a rather unpleasant picture of the butter making process, especially when using other kinds of churns!

It is stated that fresh air does not get circulated adequately in the other designs and they are more difficult to clean;

Hence arises that sour or rancid Smell, which is always perceived in the Barrell Churn, even after it has been scalded, scowered, and cleaned with the greatest Care, and which adheres to the Inside of the Vessel, in the same Manner as foul Air does in a Well that has been long closed.
