Description:The front of John Aynsley's Portland Pottery Works on Sutherland Road in Longton. Built in 1861 in the classic style of its time with an arched entrance a Venetian style window and gable above. This is now a grade II listed building. The works produced fine bone china.
Further down the road the building with two gables is the old Longton Police Station, now demolished. In the foreground is an original gas street lamp still with its mantle.
