Description:This photograph, taken from Crown Street, shows the rear of the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery and, on the left, the buildings at the north end of Broad Street. In the foreground are pre-fab houses along Crown Street built after 1945 on land cleared of terraced housing in the 1920s and 30s. Behind the museum are the windows of the Bethesda Chapel facing onto Bethesda Street. In the 1970s, the museum was extended, obscuring this view. The site of the museum, built in 1954, was previously the Bell Pottery Works.
