Description:Looking along Alfred Street from the eastern end close to where it meets Morville Close. At the far end is the Queen Victoria public house on Victoria Road. Morville Close used to be Dimmock Street, and before the 1950s, York Street. Off to the right, by the corner shop, was Coburg Street. The housing on both sides has been cleared and redeveloped. Roughly where Coburg Street was is now Hayfield Crescent. The housing in the photograph dates from towards the end of the 1800s.
