Description:The Sutherland primary schools were opened in 1954 on Beaconsfield Drive in Blurton. This is now Sutherland Primary academy on the same site with many of the original building. In the photograph, the foundations for the new hard surface appear to contain crushed roof or wall tiles. The work was being done in the school holidays.
