Description:Stoke War Memorial was erected to commemorate the men from the Potteries area who lost their lives in the Great War 1914-18.
To the right of the photograph is the Kings Hall, and in the background is the smoking chimney of Spode potworks. Out of view and to the left of the photograph on Kingsway is the Hippodrome Theatre. This was also decked out in flags and bunting to commemorate the opening of the memorial.
