Description:Stoke Ladies team was founded about five years before this picture was taken. They were not recognised as an official club, but the team did play some important matches with teams from other towns. The women were usually factory workers.
Teams such as this played an important role in the emancipation of women, and the Suffragette movement helped them gain credibility.
