Date:1984

Description:Life during the miner's strike of 1984 / 1985 was hard for mining families, with striking miners receiving no pay and no state benefits. People donated clothes and food to the strikers and these were sorted and distributed from centres based at collieries like Hem Heath in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent. This man seems pleased with his new waistcoat!
