Date:August 1964

Description:This view along James Street is from the junction with London Road. The Street had a number of large detached and semi detached houses on the left hand side by 1900, mostly obscured by the trees. The West End public house was originally a hotel. The right hand side had been developed by the 1880s. Those houses nearest the camera have been demolished and replaced with flats.
